WET MILLING FOR FOOD AND PLANT BASED APPLICATIONS
Wet milling plays a key role in the manufacturing process of plant based drinks and a variety of food applications. In particular, the production of vegan beverages such as soy, oat, rice or almond milk requires precise grinding and controlled particle size distribution.
An overview of the manufacturing process of plant based drinks shows how important wet grinding is for product stability, mouthfeel and throughput. Depending on the application and the selected process setup, capacities of up to 14,000 l/h can be achieved. At the same time, the process design allows easy scale up from pilot testing to industrial production.
A special focus is set on our newest innovation in this field: the MD Disc Mill. This development offers measurable advantages in wet grinding processes. Compared to conventional solutions, it operates with reduced noise levels, lower energy consumption and enables finer pre grinding. These benefits contribute to efficient and sustainable production environments.
Applications include chocolate spread, mustard, vegan drinks and smoothies, where controlled particle size and efficient grinding directly influence the final product quality.
